Crash My Love
Flying at the speed of light
Not a care in the world
 Not a moment to spare
 Just the car and I

 I watch the road disappear
 In my review mirror
The red shine of the lights
 How they’ve lost their luster

 Every street sign
 Just a blur
 Every guard rail
 Just a challenge

 The radio is blaring
But all I hear are his words
 Words that tore us apart
Words I had thought for months

A straight shot to the corner
Silent and still the world around me
The tears sent me to a new world
 A fuzzy and blurred universe

 Bright and blinding
 What is this?
 Blurs in the windshield
 Where am I?

 Stillness in a new place
 Grass in at eye level
 Voices yelling
 Glass shattered

 Coughing up red splatters
 This is the end
 I know it
 All I see is red

 A yank
 A tug
 I lay counting the stars
 Instead of regrets

 The tapping of nurse’s shoes
 Sudden silence
 Sudden darkness
 Just like before

 How’d she survive?
 A lab coat says
 How will she live?
 A father’s voice pleads

 An ending caused this
 Tragedy it is
 A miracle began this
 A second chance
