Clouds, Life, and Everything Else
The sounds of the city in the distance,
Of children playing down the hill.
All around the smell of grass and flowers
Traps me in a dreamland.
As I lay there taking this all in,
I look to the sky, to the clouds.
A monkey one moment, a flower the next;
The white and fluffy figures constantly change.
Seemingly so bouncy you could jump to the moon.
Hiding the sun, floating around,
These smooth, dreamy figures are
Life and change themselves.
For isn’t that what we all are?
Just things floating in space;
Constantly changing for no apparent reason.
Without change we would be stagnant;
Stuck in space, not moving.
As they float through the sky,
I stare in wonder.
These shapes seem to have no purpose,
No interest to the people.
But a lesson can be learned from anything,
Even things just floating in space.
