Creative ideas come best before being comfortably in bed
For that’s when ideas rush through my head.
They sometimes come when my hand is on the switch for the light
And I think “that’s exactly right!”
Other times they come when I rise from a vivid dream
I will get a wild idea, or so it would seem.
I always keep a notepad nearby
You don’t want inspiration to fly on by.
I don’t know why I get insight this way
But when I do? It’s always a good day—
Or should I say, night.
Now, I don’t want to be wrong, but I think tonight
I’ll get lucky and I will pick up my ballpoint pen
As I will find inspiration yet again.
