People say "forever" as if it's something simple
That others will live on and there'll always be a sequel
There's nothing after darkness, as you'll come to see
And slowly all that was will "forever" cease to be
A friend you were, but gone you are
The tide is changed and all are forgotten
The arc has left without you, all others made it on
As they wave their last goodbyes you start to feel the throb
Of pain that bursts from your heart, it seems to skip the beats
The breath that used to come so easily has faded from the scene
If I lose all that I have gained
I fail to see the point
In living on in agony
If all that will remain is the want for yesterday
I can no longer breathe
My eyes no longer see
The heart that beats in me is growing weak
I try to save the precious things in my life
But they do leave my side as my strides grow
I move farther from the start
When life was good and smiles weren't foreign
Everything I grab onto withers in my grasp
Time has taken my will and I fail to see the point
In extending my hand once more to you
To them, to anyone any longer
Why shall I accept the death that I now hold
Where once there was a beating heart
Now lies an ancient soul
