Who Do You See When You See Me
When you look at me who do you see?
Do you see the girl who’s fighting for her place in this world?
Or do you see the girl who has to many problems for your taste?
Do you see me as just another girl who eats her problems away?
Or do you just see the girl who’s to lazy to exercise?
Do you see the girl who has one to many fears?
Or do you see the girl acts like she can face this world alone?
Do you see the girl who who’s dad walked out on her at a young age?
Or do you see the girl who tries to pretend that everything’s alright?
Do you see the girl who’s trying her best to serve the lord?
Or are you seeing the girl who has a mask for everything?
When I look at myself who do I see?
When I look at myself in the mirror I see:
The girl with one to many problems who’s still trying to find her place in this world.
The girl that doesn’t eat her problems away but hardly eats at all.
The girl that no matter how hard she exercises just cant seem to get the weight to come off.
The girl who has way to many fears, but puts them in her back pocket to show the world just how strong she is.
The girl who acts like everything’s alright until by herself. Then she just falls apart.
That girl who tries her best to serve the Lord. But sometimes gets caught up with everyday life and instead of being on that solid ground, is being pulled by the sand as it slips away.
The girl that everyone else sees. The one who has a mask for everything. She has a mask for her friends, and her family. For at school and at home.
I see the girl that sometimes gets her masks mixed up.
The girl you see is only one of many.
The girl I see, only wants to be accepted, not judged.
When you look at me who do you see?
Who do I see?
But more importantly what does God see?
