This Boy and I
My heart melts,
like a pot in boiling lava,
when I think about what I could be losing,
the chance for more great memories,
the hugs, the laughs, the smiles,
but most importantly,
the one I love.
I close my eyes to dream,
to get away from the pain,
if only for a moment,
then you appear.
I awake in tears,
knowing you're not truly there,
still I lay back and pray,
this isn't really the end,
but merely an I'll see you in a bit.
Things will get better I say,
and I know this boy and I,
we'll stay.
