when the sun
shines upon your face
i smile
just knowing you are there
you take my breath
and hold it in your pocket
and keep it
you reached into my chest
and stole my heart
and i do not wish for it back
i do not know if i ever will
you hold it close to you
and i can only hope
that one day
you will let me reach into your chest
and take your heart
to have and to hold
until death do us part
and our souls depart
we will remain as one
and live in life
and afterlife
