as we know it
when the world ends
(the world will end)
we will all feel it
the first sign
is tightness in the sides of your neck
a slight gasping for breath
you will try so hard to swallow
the second sign
is a tightness in your chest
you'll feel it in your soul, that piercing emotion
choking you
the third sign
the headache bouncing from temple to temple
almost exactly
in time with your racing heart
your breathing increases
the skin
around your mouth pulls down and out and open
to let out a scream
a wail
heat everywhere everywhere everywhere
skin tightening
pulling
convulsing
uncontrollable
stuck pain emotion so much emotion so tight skin tightness dry salty hot hot wet salty headache forehead headache brows wrinkled forehead wrinkled cheeks up eyes squinted eyes red sting sting stinging welling they well up and up and up
and out
and down
feeling so much through so little
we feel our world end
