never forget
How can you hit a woman the way you do?
How can say I love you to man like that?
How can you choose him over me?
These are things I grew up wondering,
People ask me why I get so depressed
Why not look into my past?
Why not hear the horrible things I heard?
Why not see the things I’ve seen?
Growing up I didn’t know what I was doing
I listened to people scream
I heard words no three year old should hear
I saw tears rolling down my mother’s face
I saw a man get arrested for abuse
Then next month come right back
What can you say to a girl like me?
What can fix things so broken up inside?
What can you do to erase memories?
Memories so vibrant in your brain
I cannot change my past
I cannot just wake up un-depressed
All I know is a man will never treat me that way
I will always choose my children over a man
Never will I forget
