The Prize
You’re words destroy me bit by bit every time you speak. You look at me as if I’m the spawn of Satan but, I’m not. The questions that linger in my head keep me restless. What did I ever do to deserve to be treated so badly? The answer may always remain unknown. You’re my biggest nightmare in living flesh. My only piece of happiness is under your control and you always seem to snatch it from me just to see me suffer. It’s like a sick game that you always intend to win. Game after game you win and you win but, I never give up. Nor will I ever because in this particular game, the prize is worth everything to me.
