to the birds of the sky and the fish of the sea:
we are not your masters because we want to become you. we want to swim in the depths of the vast oceans and glide over the highest mountains alike.
but I am just an anchor on this earth so I cannot fly. and the weight of the ocean would crush me because I am so soft, fragile, so unbelievably human.
(and I wish I could swim as well as you or fly as well as you and touch the very heart of God like you do and stare into Satan’s eyes like you do. no I am not a fish and no I am not a bird but I am the air they fly in and I am the water they swim in. so vast, so penetrable, so empty. so human.)
