An invitation
Your eyes invite me
into a darkness i’ve not yet visited--
only in screams and nightmares.
You beg me to feast on the pain, the hurt,
to bind it into your arm’s caress,
to kiss each freckle on your hand and turn
your tears into laughter.
Laughter is not a reaction, but a memory--
of moon walks and soft talks, soft as fabric
wrapped around us on cold nights.
Wrapped around a passion that flirts with darkness,
for fear I will fall.
Insanity breathes onto my neck, as I dive
into losing control.
I run, not knowing,
not feeling where I end
and you begin.
Losing myself in you, where lust crawls
onto our skin,
I slide away,
for I may lose myself from you.
Your eyes invite me into stories
of torched hearts,
my eyes follow, to finish
our story.
