My Garndmothers' Winnow
I look out my window
And see the breeze
I see the wind blow
Past the tops of the trees
I ask him today, Lord could it be
Could it be her sweet voice, whispering to me?
Giving me a sign, telling me it’s going to be alright?
Lord please tell me I’ve got to know,
What’s the meaning to my Grandmothers’ winnow?
Is it her song, she plays in heaven?
That blows against the trees and back to me?
She leads me right, follows me at night,
I see the wind blow, and now I know,
It’s her song to me,
My Grandmothers’ Winnow
