Unspeakable thoughts
They invade my mind
Unwarranted, unauthorized, reprehensible
But true.
They yearn for knowledge
Of something they can’t grasp
They're what I cannot help
One second I sit staring at this blue sky
And another I find myself lost within myself,
Pondering what these thoughts are,
How they make their way in
Past these walls I have put up
To protect myself
From myself.
Why, I do not know
But I do know, unfortunately
I don't want them to stop.
Because as the saying goes,
Why stay awake,
When your dreams are better than reality?
