If its Real Love
If it's real love
Then it will prevail
And survive the thunder, rain,
Lightning and hail
Real love doesn't leave
Deep scars and bruises
Nor leave you drowning in wonder
On what the truth is
Hands should be used
In a sensual, warm manner
Not to choke, grab, or strike
With the power of a hammer
Caramel skin turned
Purple-black
The abuse, verbal and physical,
You can't take back
Too many tears falling
I can't even count
In the beginning, you were always smiling
Now it seems you're always down
But if your lover was there from the start
And remains with you still
Then your worries shall cease
If love is for real
