Escaping Time

The pale yellow sunlight
dance on the water,
making everything around me shine.
The morning is like a cool, refreshing drink,
breathing new life into me
every day.
I feel most alive
right here, right now;
But time is catching up to me,
calling for me to come back
to reality.
There's no time to rest,
to think, to just be still.
Time chases me out
of the deepest recesses
of my mind.
I can't escape the coming of time.
