&quot;Build a man a fire, and he&#039;ll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he&#039;ll be warm for the rest of his life.&quot;<br /> ~Terry Pratchett

We pull up to the ruby red
And jerk to a stop
I tap my hand on the side of the car,
Eyes staring intently ahead.
The car hums idly,
All revved up with nowhere to go.
I hold my breath,
Waiting.
Finally
Green.
The color is startling,
Bright.
Where could I find this color in nature?
Yet I see it every day
As we drive under the traffic lights.
I love that peacock, emerald green
That commands us to go forth
Into the night.

I've meant to write this poem for a while. I finally got down to it, and here's the final product.

Great poem with a nature flow and meter. Keep writing :)
