Reading
Have you ever read a book
That awakened inside an agitation, a stirring, strife?
Suddenly the characters aren't characters at all,
But are minuscule fragments of your own life.
Thousands of puzzle pieces, atoms put together,
Which form both your knowledge and all unbeknown...
So the pain they feel - you endure -
Their heartbreak resonates with your own.
The love they cherish - you savor -
 And briefly you feel whole.
Then the dissonance, detachment, with the snapping shut, meeting of covers...
And you are left with an empty soul.
