"Hurt"
I get down upon my knee.
I look and look but can never see
I consider you to be closer to me than my own brother
It looks like together we will never be
I feel like I am hidden behind a mask, a cover.
I fear you will never be my lover.
You have been like this ever since you were a lad.
I was told it would never work by even my own mother.
You cause me to feel bad.
You cause me to even become mad.
But I don’t know what to do today.
In the end I can only feel sad.
She asked, “Can I ask a question if I may?
Would it make you happy if I just went away?
You probably don’t even want me to stay.
Because of you, my feelings will never again be okay.”
