Sitting at the Kitchen Table
Rain
Pounds down
From the sky.
Drops falling so fast
You can’t tell which way
Is up.
Wind rages
In the distance
Blowing pearly flannel
Across the arc of the sky.
It seems like
Day or night
Don’t exist
Any more.
Inside
Looking out
Symphonies of rain
Bring color—
Blue, white, grey
To the day.
Crystalline drops
Full of rainbows
Waiting to be born.
