Diversity is...
What makes us different?
You and I?
Why is it you are treated better?
And I am treated worse.
We like the same things.
Where the same clothes, but yet
You have the feeling you are that much better.
Why is it such a bad thing to just be my friend?
Someone to hang out with on the weekends.
Someone to tell me I look cool.
I will never be like you. I’m cursed with this different body.
This different skin.
Sometimes I think do I really want to be your friend?
`
How can I be excepted by you if I’m the same
When you can’t accept me when I’m different.
One day you’ll see that we are the same.
We love the same things.
Do the same activities
and where the same clothes.
The only difference between you and I is
Our skin.
When you can realize and accept the facts
That stands as tall as a mountain,
Come find me.
I will be waiting to be your friend
