On Opposite Day
On opposite day everyone knows,
You wear socks on your hands and gloves on your toes
You don’t eat your food and instead eat the trash
You walk backwards instead of forwards, and try not to crash.
You do your homework at school and your schoolwork at home.
You use a tooth brush for your hair and with your teeth use a comb.
Stop instead of go.
Go fast instead of slow.
Swim in the court and play basketball in the pool.
All the fun things are out and all the lame things are cool.
When you talk you say the opposite of what you mean.
And you make your room messy instead of clean.
On opposite day everyone knows,
That we do things the opposite way, and that’s how it goes!
