Too Late
She stood, tall and defiant
 so sweet, so innocent
 so real, but so unreal
 a creation
 from my imagination
it's too good to be true
 a trickery
 a loud bang
 cries
 her soft, dying breath
the words, at last, escape my lips
 "I am sorry"
 but it is far, far
 too late
