Making Things Clear Again
She looked at me and said,
“It’s raining.”
I replied,
“The flowers are thirsty.”
She pointed at my desk and said,
“That’s messy.”
I replied,
“That’s where I keep our memories.”
She turned on the television and said,
“They’re fighting again.”
I replied,
“Only another reason to be praying.”
She plucked a blade of grass and said,
“It’s turning yellow.”
I replied,
“Change makes us grow exponentially.”
She took my hand and said,
“We’re getting older.”
I replied,
“But I love you just the same.”
