The Heart
Your harsh words
Break the shell
The shell I’ve worked
So hard to fix
Your anger scares me
Makes me seethe
In anger too
The heart is shattered because of you
Because of you
My pillow is wet
I cry at night
My stuffed animals seem to be my only friends
Without you
I’m joyous and free
My heart is mended
How can this be?
It’s an odd sensation
To say the least
To feel happy
To feel at ease
My wants are turned down
With a submissive wave
My thoughts brushed away
With an evil stroke
My friends are there for me
More than you are
They’ll support me
Can you say the least?
My heart is shattering
Piece by piece
I can’t write anymore
At least… not today
