Sit to a Tear, Leave to a Smile
Respond to tear with a click of your tongue and a look of mock disappointment
I turn my head because I am distraught and have no want for any games
You are not deterred and you orient your self so you are in my eyes again
You pout at me as a mirror of my frown in such silly manor
I sniff my nose and wipe my eyes rolling them away
Your turn your fits over your eyes, gleaming with delight
I shove you and you catch my hand and hold it to you cheek
And with gentle fingers brush my tears away
You pull my hair all back and tilt my chin up high
You look at me and in doing so share your happiness
How can I manage to be sad with you here beside me
Forcibly lending out your contagious jubilee
I sigh and give in and smile back
You glow with rash delight
And honestly when I really tried
I couldn’t remember why I’d been so sad
Just as long as you stay here the world is full of so much more light
And how could I bear to waste a moment of looking upon the apparent beauty
Any one I know can bear to sit and manage to share a laugh or smile
But you are so wonderful, you’re the one who sits to a tear and leaves to a smile
