Wolves
Running.
My paws crunch lightly
Over the frozen tundra.
Wind whips past me,
As I run the endless plain.
Yet I am not alone.
Besides me on the left,
On the right,
I hear the quiet breath of my pack.
My family.
During daybreak,
We bring down a moose.
Victorious, our blood thundering,
We eat voraciously.
We groom each other,
Content in each others’ presence.
Pups wrestle playfully back and forth,
Our wild spirit shines.
Our leader marks our scent proudly;
Then we are on the move again.
