Reach the Sky
When I was naught but a child,
I thought I could reach the sky….
I thought
I could just break a piece off.
But now, I see
The obstacles in my way
And finally
The sky is far away.
As I fly toward the sky,
Birds jab me.
And I fly,
And mountains stop me.
But I still fly,
And this time it’s the sun
Who pushes me away.
I thought
When I was small
That when I was big
The sky’d get closer.
But now,
It gets further and further
Something I can never reach
And suddenly it seems pointless.
As I fly toward the sky,
Birds jab me.
And I fly,
And mountains stop me.
But I still fly,
And this time it’s the sun
Who pushes me away.
Air weighs on me,
The sky pushed away
And everything
Along with it.
I can just watch
As my sky is taken away.
Away, away, it goes…
And I have no sky anymore.
