I'm For
I'm for seeing a smile on my sister's face,
Barbie coloring pages littering the floor.
I'm for hearing that rare laugh
that comes from my brother,
even if it is at my own expense.
I'm for making dinner every night,
helping with homework, and tucking
kids into bed....I became too much
like a mother too soon,
responsibility falling on
my capable shoulders,
but I'm not complaining.
I'm for a soft kiss good night,
a whispered, "I love you."
I'm for a shopping trip
with my best friends.
Ice cream sundaes and
chick flicks all night.
I'm for crying on my best
friends shoulder.
"That d*** b******. He broke
your heart again. I knew he would."
I'm for loving life because I'd
be crazy not to.
I'm for second chances,
new beginnings, and
never giving up on
the ones you love
because in the end they
may be all you have left.
