Price Of Society
The light reflects in the black sea of resent
Between hope and dread
What side I stand on doesn’t matter
What matters is where my heart belongs
To swim past the sea free of charge
To make the land of lights
Enable me
Dare me to reach new heights but
My heart is anchored
Destined to drown in the sea
Doomed to a life of shortcomings and what could be’s
My heart, deformed by the weight of society
Stays looking at the lights
As my eyes turn
Forced to stare at my current dimmed life
