Cardinal In the Snow

You're a cardinal in the snow,
blatant red against bland white.
Amidst all the snowflakes who may be ever so slightly different,
but from far away seem the same.
You growing like a taper white inside my heart,
finding a hidden hearth to keep you close,
as Hestia tends to the affection for you,
The gifts of Apollo are what caught my minds eye.
Eros hath betrayed me before,
and I have a feeling he will again.
