"Time was passing like a hand waving from a train I wanted to be on. I hope that you never have to think about anything as much as I think about you" - Jonathan Safran Foer

This silent pain
I can take no more.

My gates have been shut
for too long now.

First it was easy,
first this was just a simple wish.

I’d give anything to take it back
to rewind to that place of innocence.
Innocence that is forever lost.

The voices started soft
grazing outside late at night.

But now,
now they rage in mobs.

They climb my gates, rattle its chains.

Screaming.
Yelling
Spatting the words I can no longer bare to hear.

The truth.

This body was once a comfort
a place of peace.

But was it really?

Now it’s a war zone.
It’s a shell
five sizes too small for this claustrophobic soul.

So tell me,

how do I escape?

This poem was one that came to me while lying in bed late one night. It is based off of me, and the insecurity and struggles I have faced over the past couple of years.
