"Why are you so busy trying to fit in when you were born to stand out?"

The connection between the souls
Of lovers
Is different than that of fathers
And brothers
It’s quite like the wind
On a stormy day
A bit like the blistering
Hot sun of May
Our connection reminds me
Of a tidal wave
Crashing against the sandy shore
I am the surfer, riding the wave
Though dangerous, I want so much more.
Your soul is addicting
Terribly beautiful
Your passion
Hot like fire
Lit by the flame of desire
Your energy electric
Your kisses too; everything you say and do
Marvels my heart
By shock, by storm
Nothing ever of the norm
Your sweet brown eyes
Catch me by surprise
Your welcoming smile
Keeps me waiting awhile
Waiting for the day when we can sit
In a forest
Enchanted, sparkling with magical beauty
The beauty of our love
Emanating faster and faster
From our young, zealous hearts
Beating to the sound
Of the loudest call of the sparrow
In the deepest depths of the wood
Dark and scary
Fierce and intense
I find myself in utter bliss
Jordan, I love you
I want you, babe
But, my darling, do you feel the same?
Don’t tell me you love me
Show me you do
To me, my love, there is so much to prove
Wait at my doorstep
Sing me a song
Keep my heart for oh, so long
Make me love you
Without the shadow of a doubt
Don’t ever let my lips
Form into a pout
So on a beach
Or beneath a tree
Love me for all of
Eternity.

I want to thank Jordan for inspiring me to write this poem. Though we are no longer together, there will always be a special place in my heart for him, and I am not ashamed to share the feelings that I was experiencing in that moment because they were incredible. But let me tell you, love is a tempest storm.

I really like it---how interesting that you compared love to a tempest storm. It was refreshing instead of love being a drug. Good job!

The imagery is amazing! (: I really, really liked this poem...I think, maybe, saying the word babe kind of doesn't fit in this piece, but other than that I have not critisicm whatsoever! Lovely!

At the touch of love, everyone becomes a poet.

Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.

A poem is never finished, only abandoned.

Art is the only way to run away without leaving home.

I love it. there is not a thing I would change. It is amazing. I like how you ended the poem with the word eternity. Its great. :D

Wow I absolutely love this. When I first started reading it I thought'd it'd be just another well written love poem but it's way better than that. I love the imagery and the words you use. You're a really good writer. Great job.
