A Ode to Pokemon
The day is warm,
 the sun is high.
 Nature beckons you
 to be outside;
 but you decline.
 The test is big,
 Approaching fast
 you must study
 if you wish to pass.
Though it hardly matters to you.
 For there is something else,
 You would much rather do.
 Turn on the screen,
 and enter the world
 where Pokémon are free
 and pokeballs are hurled.
 Adventure awaits!
 Excitement begins!
 Tighten your cap,
 Pull on your gloves,
 and dive right in.
 Which starter to choose?
 Fire, water or grass?
 Each with their advantage,
 Each turning kick-butt.
 Picking the one,
 and your adventure’s begun.
 Cities and towns,
 gym battles and badges
 plot twists and turns,
 all those stupid tall grasses.
 Epic battles with friends,
 Or an arch nemesis.
 Each win a grand boast,
 Each loss a travesty.
 People laugh and scoff.
 But what does it matter?
 For you, my friend,
 are a Pokémon master.
