Slave
You talk with your eyes,
I can't turn away.
Even when you tell me these lies,
They're the only truth I have.
I still can't understand,
I can't try to pretend again.
These words you whisper softly,
I close my eyes and breathe.
I have you close to me,
Yet, I've never felt so far away.
This distance feels like miles.
Still, I try to breathe.
I look in the mirror and stop.
My reflection isn't the same.
My face twists and turns,
Maybe you won't recognize me now.
But I can never hide from you.
You'll always find me.
I'll forever be your slave.
