Barren
Barren,
Ripped from its love.
Dreamed about living again
In a land of isolation
I stare at its tears
Remains of what once was
And could have been
Long gone
Once lush
With sounds of honest glee
Whispering a welcome
To any weary soul
Held on so long
But now must go
Remembering its host
And how it carried
Gone
Wasted away to nothing
Not even the soil can beckon
But drift away
Harsh wind beams
Once gentle rhythm
Upon a long lost dream
Of peaceful reconciliation
Perhaps my tears for what once was
Will bring back what’s gone
But could a thousand tears
Hold to what’s been lost?
Barren,
Ripped from it’s love.
Dreamed about living again
In a land of isolation
