I say this New Year can absolutely mean something
They said this year would be just like the rest
What if we can make this year stand up against the test?
They told us 2012 is the end of the world
I say it’s just the beginning
They see apocalypse looming in the horizon
I see a new life for a tired world shivering in the darkness
They say the world has run out of great thinkers
I say there’s plenty we just have to be willing to strap on our sneakers
They told me there world and there rule is spinning out of control
I told them change is calling
Then I asked them why? Are you falling?
They say the earths glorious elements is destroying all with power and will
I ask you what if man is the cause of this hell
They told me murder- murder death- death all for freedom war
I told them peace- peace love- love life- life hope
They say the censorship act is for the best
I say our freedoms are being put to the test
They told u this year there taking control
I say we can raise our fists and show them just how much we can withhold
They told us this country is way overeating
I say meanwhile the rest of the world is pleading
Just for some food maybe a drink cant you see there tears I see in there eyes there strong but not for long
This year this golden year with war with peace with fighting and disease we can stand we can change let our thoughts be heard and our fists held high we can make it remembered we can make it bettered
