Had It Once, But Never Again
Had It Once, But Never Again
When I look outside,
I see her laughing.
Her cheerful smile and joyous laughter,
I used to see,
But never again.
I go to the room,
Where she once was.
Her once optimistic face,
Now filled with sadness,
As her condition slowly deteriorated,
The happiness and laughter from the house went away with it.
As I turn away,
I stare at the picture of what I once had,
But what I can never have again.
