Potential Breakup Poem
I’m sorry, but
Our relationship
Is not working quite
The way I would like.
You are controlling
And mean,
And you do not love me,
Even though you say you do.
I need to find myself.
Without you.
I need to be on my own for a while,
And figure out a thing or two.
Sure, you do make me happy,
And the things we do together are fun,
But
You are not the person
I thought you were.
You have changed,
And I don’t like it.
So this is the end.
Have a nice life.
Don’t call me again.
I’m done.
Oh, dear Journalism,
I did love you once,
But I am done
Staring into your glaring eyes
And seeing you not stare back
Because you are not like a human
You’re not a human
Your eyes are the glassless
Screen of a Mac.
(Oh, Journalism,
You know me,
It’s not really over
I’ll come on my knees
Pleading for you
To give me my life back
Because without you
I don’t really have one)
