Thoughtless Words
They’ve always said,
Life reads like a book
I look forward at all the pages to come
Reread the chapters I’ve looked back on at least a thousand times
Some are foggy
Some feel as if I’ve only just turned the page
It’s like a rollercoaster
Only one way on, one way off
This ‘coaster I’ve been cruising
Just over a dozen years
It’s got to be finished sometime soon.
This chapter just doesn’t seem to want to end.
Can you see a way past the tragedy?
Can you read my thoughts?
Just like another open book?
I can see the twists and turns
Ominous, but all the same
I just can’t wait to leave the obstacles in the present.
