It Flashes
Pain.
It flashes.
Like lightening,
It burns.
Sizzling,
Engraved words into flesh.
The ridicule cannot compare
To the torture in my head.
The dangerous time,
Is the time to myself;
The questions,
The answers,
They slam into my mind.
Leaving skid marks
And scars;
They’re a constant reminder.
Confusion stings,
A brand to the hide;
Imprinting the lies
That they left behind.
Glinting.
Gleaming.
The jewels in her eyes;
They sing
Songs of perfection.
The future waits.
Pauses.
Holds its breath,
Waiting for fate.
