free at last
I turn to you
and consider
how to avenge your sins.
Words
that could bust from my lips
hot angry veil language
that could seep from my mouth
like a volcano erupting
smoke and ash soaring into the sky
staining the picture perfect blue
gray.
Hands
that could form fists
and dent your unbelievably perfect completion
cause black and blue stains
that would last a lifetime,
like the deep scars you left on my
heart.
But instead,
when I turn to you
I do not speak
I do not move
the silence sitting between us
is punishment enough
the hate bleeding from my pores
and the death in my eyes is worthy
of your wrongs.
and so
I take off your chains that have held me to long
free my wings
and
fly.
