Lullaby
Sweet misty waves of twilight dreams,
Remember dear,
That Lullaby?
I still hum it now,
When tears grip my eye.
Oh lilting last words before a night of adventure;
Cautioning us,
Loving us,
Sweeping us away...
Into sleeps strong arms we were borne into a new light;
This light, our Light
Is no measly light of day.
We tumbled and twirled
And shared dream upon dream.
Before we even awoke,
We split time's seam.
But as we grew older,
My dear friend,
Our Lullaby,
Our Light,
Was given Its end.
No notice did we pay, until one night it struck;
Breaking us,
Taking us,
Stealing Lullaby's luck.
Nightmare after nightmare poured into our sleep;
The madness was catching,
It captured us, kept hidden deep...
Kept our laughter.
Kept our smile.
Kept the sparkle in our eyes.
We were broken!
We were chained!
No more stars in the sky...
But we escaped you and I.
We did, yes indeed.
With the night as our cloak
And the wind as our steed.
Running, still running...
My dearest friend and I,
We are one and the same;
Heart and Soul married in Our own blazing Light,
by Our sweet Lullaby.
