Without Me
I punch the mirror to break it.
I hate what I see.
Bloodied knuckles
Are better than staring at me.
You didn't like what you saw;
Circled eyes,
Tear-streaked cheeks.
My smile hangs limply,
Like Grannie's best undies
Rippling in the breeze.
Now that you're gone;
I see me,
I hate me.
I have never seen this side of myself before.
I never want to again.
It's dark,
It's painful,
It's lonely,
Behind that door.
Don't let me run again.
Don't let me fall through again,
The ever crumbling floor.
Jealously.
Hatred.
I block out the world.
I'm tired now;
Too tired now.
I cannot see how
You ever even glanced at me.
Don't look at me.
Don't look at me.
You're better off now,
Happier now,
Without me.
