Farewell
I saw you in the hallway
I didn't know what to say
It's been a really long time
I miss you.
The trees have turned a lovely shade
Of orange, yellow
Is it May?
My mind shifts back and forth
I don't know what to do.
Has it really been a year?
Since we've both disappeared?
Apart from each other's lives.
Like an ocean
that's lost it's tide.
But really,
What do I expect from you?
You were anything but someone true.
A person who'd be there for me
Amidst even the darkest seas.
My heart grew bitter as time went on
Our friendship
my mind dwelled upon
There's nothing more that I can do
to change what's already come.
Adieu.
