Windy
Thoughts wind like wind
that rustles trees and ripples water,
cold enough to cut through skin.
So I close my doors and windows.

When thoughts rattle my mind's thin, dry, walls
 it makes the dreadful sound
of a skull caving in on itself.
So I stick my head in a lukewarm tub
 until I start to shiver.

Water is hard to get out of your ears
 but wind is near impossible.
In the ears and to the mind
down to the heart and on through the gut.
 Everything disheveled
like a flag blown off its pole.

 Thoughts wind like wind
that rustles trees and ripples water,
cold enough to cut through skin,
broke through my doors and windows.
