Cancer
You are my cancer
My disease and disaster
And in this sickening battle
You become my romancer
I shut my eyes in the mirror
Yet you don’t disappear
Twisted and entwined we are
We exist
As an entity of its own
One – Itself - You - Me – We - Us.
Poison is the only solution
For to rid myself of you
I must die too
For as I thrive, you are alive
Only in my illness do you leave
Because there is nothing left valuable in me
As I come to greet death
You steal my final breath
I am abused and no longer of use
