With You
I thought I knew what love was so long ago;
It was the feeling of never wanting to let someone go.
But lying here with you, I realize it's so much more;
Looking into your eyes, I see what I'm fighting for.
It's the desire to wake up every day to your face,
And admitting that sometimes we just need our space.
It's lying together with my head on your chest,
And thinking, on your worst day, you still are the best.
It's living the future and accepting the memories,
And sometimes being the first one to say "I'm sorry."
It's seeing the person that you see in your mirror,
And mending the broken bits and catching the tears.
It's trying and fighting and kisses like lightning;
It's wishing and missing and laughing 'til crying.
And even through everything, it still remains true:
There's no place I'd rather be than right here with you.
