Dreams, those wonderful Things
Sometimes...
I just want to let go of dreams.
To watch them float away
Like balloons
Released from the tiny hand of endless imagination.
Watch them
Zig and zag
Through the misty night's reveries
And never wonder,
No,
What would happen the next day.
But dreams.
Oh dreams.
They're ours for the making,
Creating
Sculpting
From a very young age.
They give us
That shooting star,
That glistens and gleams on silty sand bars
That abide in the corners of our sleep deprived eyes.
Letting go of these strings
Attached to those lofty "unattainable" dreams
Would be to snap
Our thrumming heart strings.
They give us the light
At the end of the tunnel,
they give us the dark
before the bright light of day.
They pull us forward
Filled with our fire,
Fueled by our passion to make something of today.
Because after all
All we have is today.
