To Whom It May Concern
I write this in hopes that you may soon see
I am not your puppet, not your 'soon to be.'
Expectations shield me from the life I'm sure to live.
Yet, I can't complain about the life I have.
And I see the stars when they shine so bright.
I see the moon cut through the night.
And the icy world may cut so deep
as to penetrate my thoughts even in sleep.
Colorless tears streak down the face
Of the person you tried so hard to erase.
Words never to be forgotten, you have no idea who I am.
Place your bets, all you hypocrites!
Who shall conquer this world?
Understand that no one wins.
In the end, we all die.
Sentenced to an unavoidable destiny.
Heaven or Hell?
Let's wait and see.
Sincerely,
t h e b r o k e n.
